You've heard of home automation and smart homes but do you know what a control system can do for you?

What is Home Automation?

Our homes are made up of many systems:  music, video, lighting, HVAC, security, shades, irrigation.  Home automation allows you to integrate all these systems in your home into one centralized control system, allowing you to press one button to control it all.   Now your life is easier, more convenient, safer, more energy efficient, and more fun!

Improved technology brings better ways to interact with these systems.  You can access your home systems even when are away. Events can happen without you thinking about it.  No more turning outdoor lights on and off every evening.  Timed events can be set according to sunset times.  Motion sensors can be installed so that lights don't get accidentally left on.

Imagine these scenarios:

  • Preset scenes--In preparation for a party, you press one button on your remote control system and all your lights come on to pre-determined levels to create the ideal ambiance for the evening, you turn the music on throughout the home and you can easily change the music from multiple access points throughout the evening.

  • Watch a Movie--When you want to watch a movie, one button press lowers the shades in your family room, the lights dim, the screen drops down from the ceiling, and all your equipment turns on to start the movie.

  • Security--When you want to check to see if someone is at the door, you use your remote to check the live security feed from the camera and realize it is your friends so you press a button to unlock the door and let them in.

  • Play Music--During an evening with friends, you hand them your remote and let them add songs to a play list and then you all sit back and enjoy the music all night on your patio and throughout your house.

  • Lighting-You go up to your bedroom for the evening and with the press of one button on the keypad or a voice command to Alexa, all the lights throughout your house turn off.

  • Arrive at Home--Prior to arriving home, you press one button on your remote app and the thermostat warms or cools your home for you, and welcome lights turn on so you don't need to fumble with the switches when your hands are full.

  • Multi-zone Control--You want to listen to sports radio in the office and the chef in the kitchen wants to listen to music while the kids are playing a video game in the basement.  The game is too loud, so you turn the volume down. You make it all happen easily from your phone.

  • Timed events--Outside lights at your front door and on your patio come on at dusk and turn off at a pre-determined time, without you doing a thing.  Even when you are away on vacation, the cycle remains the same.

  • Sensors--Your kids walk into the bathroom in the morning to brush their teeth and rush out without turning the light off. The remote sensor turns the lights off 5 minutes later.

The possibilities are endless!
